Nothing is random here

Random musings, random thoughts or random posts.... That's the most (ab)used word on the blog-o-world.
OK, Agreed. Isn't  it easy to be random when you don't know what to say.. ? Isn't stupid who says and thinks everything is "random" happening in his life.... So now, that,  brings the ME into the picture.

I admit, (sheepishly), that I got lots of time floating around me and no particular agenda to tackle it. So, instead of picking nose for the umpteenth time, I go wash my hands and put fingers to key and start a blog.
What about? Not  an idea. Why? ditto.  Why not? Yeah!

It will be a , u guessed it, a 'Random Blog'. It will not be easy ( easy=funny, cynical, holier-than-thou, verbaige), it will not be informed ( informed= u know about it  so much to speak non-stop for 5 minutes), and it will not take me more than 20 mts to blog about it.

So being, Parsi New Year today and all, I write about Parsi the community in , like I warned, 20 mts.

The first time I heard the word was in the context of how there is a group of people in Bombay who give their dead ones to the vultures to feed on! I couldn't be more taken aback! "You know, Indira Gandhi's husband was eaten by vultures after death"..Ewwwww! The three-year-old would wonder why would somebody do that? To save money? Anyway, that was that.

Later, The Illustrated Weekly of India had an article on the community in the early '80s and that profiled them as  westernised folks -in attire, English speaking to my rather small-town friends and traditional family.

Anyway, jump cut to this friend in college and that was the closes t I came to a live-one.. The more I learned, the more I figured how insular,  almost incestuous, they were trying to keep themselves "above board" Indians. Fiercely  protecting thir gene pools and following traditions that makes Taliban proud..
Oh, 20 mts almost up..that'sit.  In short, I'd say, the less said the better.

More unknown, hopefully, brighter topic next.
